It is self sustaining with automated water change, food. Pockets have been created to take out dead fish if any, which is unlikely as all the conditions required for the Kois' have been taken care of and no dead fishy as of now. Further it has been deviced in a away that the stink (unlikely with daily water changes post feeding) will be channeled out of the system. Air circulation with fresh air is also a feature of this floor aquarium.
